PLEASE JOIN US FOR A “GRADE-IN”! • Are you tired of all the criticism directed at teachers lately, and
frustrated with the misconception that an educator's day ends when the
bell rings? • Are you worried that additional legislative cuts will mean less time
for student learning, and even less time for teachers to teach? • What about preparing to teach? Let's show the public what we do! Educators from Edmonds, Northshore, Shoreline and other local districts are joining together for a “GRADE-IN”! Date: Saturday, June 4, 2011 Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Address: Third Place Commons
17171 Bothell Way Northeast Lake Forest Park, WA 98155 Join us by filling out the RSVP form here. We know our work day doesn't end when the bell rings. We arrive early,
stay late, work on weekends and during breaks to do all we can for our
students. How many times have you brought papers home to grade, or gone
in to school on a weekend to prepare for students or complete paperwork?
Way too often? For the most part, that work is invisible, because
people aren't there to see it. So let's make it visible! (If you are unfamiliar with the “Grade-In” idea, check out this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jLeDM8xvIlY) Bring papers to grade, lessons to plan, and/or materials to prepare and
join us for a "Grade-In" at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park.
Bring your colleagues, friends, family, and kids. Parents, students, and
classified educators are welcome, as well. Come ready to grab a coffee,
soda, or snack and settle in to do some of the work you already plan to
do that weekend. Signs will be provided that identify you as an educator, and invite
people to ask you about what you are doing - or about state budget cuts
(you can pick the question).
We look forward to seeing you on June 4th! |
